Choral and Organ Scholars
Eight choral scholars are elected on a yearly basis, and enjoy
- A scholarship of £300 per annum
- A subsidy of up to £360 per annum for singing lessons
- Singing at services as well as in the choir tours, concerts, and recording sessions
- Assisting with the administration of choir events and its music library
Organ scholars are elected at St John's two out of every three years, and enjoy
- A scholarship of £500 per annum
- A subsidy for organ lessons
- A room in college with a piano throughout their undergraduate career (to be paid at normal rates)
- Free dinners on Sundays in term and at feasts
- Responsibility under the Chaplain for running the Chapel's music programme, and for auditioning, training and conducting the choir.
