Women in Politics Day

Saturday 12 March 2011

Jointly hosted by St John’s College and Oxford University Student Union (OUSU), the Women in Politics Taster Day is designed to encourage applications from female students who have an interest in studying politics and related subjects (History, Economics and Philosophy) at University.

Now in its third year, this free event aims to give potential students an experience of what it is like to study politics at Oxford, the kinds of careers that studying politics can lead to, and to dispel some myths around the Oxford application process. Students will have the chance to hear from speakers, attend seminars and meet current students.

Who should attend?

The event is open to female students in Year 12 or 11 who have the potential to achieve highly in their A-levels or equivalent. Students do not need to have previous experience of studying politics.

We especially welcome applications from institutions that do not regularly receive offers from Oxford or Cambridge. In order to allocate places as fairly as possible, we can only offer a maximum of two places to each institution.
