Research Interests
I have published widely in scholarly journals and elsewhere on International Economics and Development Economics. I have also written extensively on the economy of India, in particular two major books (jointly with I.M.D. Little): India - Macroeconomics and Political Economy, World Bank and Oxford University Press 1994 and India's Economic Reforms 1991-2001, Oxford University Press 1996.
I am currently writing (jointly with Robert Skidelsky) a book on the economics, ethics and politics of globalisation.
Other Information
I have served as Economic Advisor to the Government of India and as consultant to various international organisations, including the World Bank.
