Professor Rafal Bogacz

Non-Stipendiary Lecturer in Quantitative Methods

Teaching Interests

I teach statistics to the medical and biomedical sciences Students. During the tutorials the Students learn how the mathematical methods can be used to solve problems and analyze data related to biomedical sciences.

Research Interests

My research is in the area of computational neuroscience, which uses mathematical models to understand how computations in neural circuits give rise to human and animal behaviour. My work focuses on the computational models of brain circuits underlying action selection. In particular, I investigate how these neuronal networks can select actions in statistically optimal way, and how they are affected in Parkinson’s disease.
