Dr Simon Dadson
Stipendiary Lecturer in Physical Geography
Teaching Interests
Currently, I teach all core papers in physical geography at St. John's, including the first year Prelims course in Earth Systems Processes, which covers material in climatology, geomorphology, and ecology. I also teach the Final Honour School course in the Geographical Environment (Physical), for which second and third year students study a broad range of topics including climate change, biodiversity, and natural hazards.
Research Interests
My research in physical geography focuses on the processes that link climate, hydrology, and geomorphology. These links range from the potential impacts of future climate change on river flows, to the study of how continental-scale weather patterns have influenced the development of mountain topography over the past few million years.
Other Information
I also work as an Environmental Modeller at the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology in Wallingford.
