Incoming Students
Are you an incoming student hoping to start your course at St John's in October 2012? If so, please note the following:
- Confirmation Letters: These will be sent out as soon as we have processed the ‘A’ level results. This is the same for all new students, even if you have taken exams other than ‘A’ levels, for example IB.
- Fresher Packs: These packs of information for incoming students will be sent out towards the end of August.
- Reading Lists: Most of these are sent out in August after the 'A' level results are published. There are some notable exceptions: English, Modern and Oriental Languages and Maths. We try to get these lists sent out in March/April.
- Addresses: Please make sure that we have up-to-date postal and e-mail addresses for you. We need to be sure that your Fresher Pack reaches you as you will need to sign and return your Student Contract promptly. Also without a functioning e-mail address, we will not be able to set up a university e-mail account for you.
- Accommodation: You DO NOT need to apply for accommodation. Furnished accommodation has been assigned to you. Your keys will be ready for you to collect when you arrive in College.
- Arrival Date: New undergraduates are asked to arrive on Sunday 30 September. Please aim to arrive between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm. Arrival earlier than 30 September is not usually allowed without prior permission, and then only in exceptional circumstances. If you are an international student and need to arrive early for the University’s Orientation Programme for International Students, please contact the email the Domestic Office.
- Financial Queries: Please email the Bursary with any financial queries.
- Any Questions? Please feel free to email Sarah Jones in the Admissions Office.
