I hear that in New York: Brecht’s Poetry and Eisler’s Songs In Exile

Thursday 1 March, 8pm
Location: St John's College Auditorium

This is a recital of another kind, exploring both poetry and songs of Brecht and Eisler with respect – but not too much - in different media and languages. What happens when you replace one language with another? Can you still sing it? What happens when you take metaphors literally? And what happens when the piano is replaced by pots and pans?

To find out, voice and piano will be joined by toy instruments and percussion to explore melody, words and rhythm of Brecht’s poetry and Eisler’s songs composed in exile.

Join us for this hour at St John’s Auditorium and hear Brecht and Eisler as you haven’t heard them before.

Entry is free and everyone is most welcome!
