Open Days and Visits
Open Days 2013 St John’s College
One of the best ways to get a feel for College life is to come and visit us on one of our Open Days. So please add these dates to your diary:
- Wednesday 26 June
- Thursday 27 June
- Friday 20 September
Unless you require overnight accommodation or lunch there is no need to book - just turn up.
Open Day Lunch
If you would like to have lunch with us on one of the open days, please e-mail Sarah Jones.
Sarah will need the following information:
- Name
- Contact Address
- School name and postcode
- Details of any special dietary requirements and food allergies or disabilities.
We regret that we are unable to offer lunch to parents or accompanying friends or relatives. Lunch will be served in the Hall between 12 Noon and 2pm.
Programme for 2013
10am - 5pm The College will be open for drop-in visits
Come to the Lodge in St Giles or the 'Back Lodge' in Parks Road - look out for our banners.
Tours will be leaving from Canterbury Quad at regular intervals, or if you prefer, you are free to wander around independently.
Make sure you visit our 'meet the students' and 'meet the admissions team' stalls also in Canterbury Quad.
Our Student Ambassadors will be available throughout the day to chat and answer questions. They will be easy to spot as they will be wearing bright red polo shirts.
12-2pm Lunch - in the Hall
If you have booked lunch with us, please go to the Hall. Student Ambassadors will be on hand to help.
Subject Panel Sessions - in the Garden Quad Auditorium
1:00 - 1:30 pm Humanties
2:00 - 2:30 pm Social Sciences
3:00 - 3:30 pm Sciences including Mathematics and Medicine
Tea 1:30-4:00pm - in the Garden Quad Reception Room
Tea and light refreshments will be offered in the Garden Quad Reception Room during which there will be an opportunity to meet subject tutors and current students.
Overnight Accommodation - Nights of 25th & 26th June are fully booked
One night's accommodation is available for students and teachers coming from outside a 70 mile radius of Oxford. We regret that we are unable to offer accommodation to any accompanying parents or friends. Overnight accommodation books up very quickly so if you do need to stay with us, please make sure you make your reservation as quickly as possible. To book overnight accommodation, please e-mail Sarah Jones. Details required are the same as those required for lunch booking (see above). Those staying overnight will automatically be booked in for an evening meal, breakfast and lunch.
Visiting Oxford at Other Times
The University’s Undergraduate Admissions Office will be running admissions talks during the school Easter holidays. Details of how to book a place can be found on the Oxford University website. You can also watch a Guided Tour of St John's video on this website which was created by some of our students.
When time allows, the Admissions Secretary and Schools Liaison Officer are always happy to arrange individual visits.
