April Introducing Oxford Talks and Tours
St John's is supporting the 'Introducing Oxford' initiative co-ordinated by the Admissions Information Centre.
This offers students, parents and teachers the chance to visit Oxford in the school holidays. In the morning you can attend attend one or two talks about particular subject groups in the and then in the afternoon visit up to two colleges for a guided tour by admissions staff or students.

Open Days 2014 St John’s College
Our next college open days will be held on 2nd, 3rd July and 19th September 2014. These are the main University Open Days for new undergraduates, when many colleges and departments are open. For more information see www.ox.ac.uk/opendays
Typical Open Day programme*

10am - 5pm College open for drop-in visits
12pm – 2pm Lunch for pre-booked visitors
1 – 1.30pm Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Subject Panel (followed by tea with tutors, 1.30 – 2pm)
2 – 2.30pm Sciences Subject panel (followed by tea with tutors, 2.30 – 3pm)
Enter St John's through the main lodge on St Giles or via the 'Back Lodge' in Parks Road (particular useful for visitors coming from the Unviersity Science Area). Look out for our banners marking entrances.
Student-led tours will be leaving throughout the day or you are free to wander around independently if you prefer. Our Student Ambassadors are always on hand to chat and answer questions: they are easy to spot in their bright red polo shirts. Also look out for our our 'meet the students' and 'meet the admissions team' stalls in Canterbury Quad.
Subject Panel Sessions - in the Garden Quad Auditorium
1:00 - 1:30 pm Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (subjects represented: Archaeology and Anthropology, Classical Archaeology and Ancient History, Classics and Joint Schools, Economics Joint Schools, English and Joint Schools, Fine Art, Geography, History and Joint Schools, History of Art, Law, and Law with Law Studies in Europe, Modern Languages and Joint Schools, Music, Oriental Studies, Philosophy Joint Schools, Philosophy, Politics and Economics, Theology and Joint Schools
2:00 - 2:30 pm Sciences (subjects represented: Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Chemistry, Computer Science and Joint Schools, Engineering, Human Sciences, Mathematics, Medicine, Physics and Joint Schools, Psychology and Joint Schools)
During the subject panels tutors and students will give an overview of the strengths of the relevant courses at Oxford and St John's and outline subject-specific entrance requirements.
Tea and light refreshments will be offered in the Garden Quad Reception Room from 1.30 - 3.30pm, during which there will be an opportunity to talk to students and tutors. Subject tutors arrive in the reception room after the relevant subject panel.
Lunch & Accommodation
Accompanying parents and family members are welcome to join all parts of the Open Day program, however we are able to provide lunch ONLY for pre-booked prospective applicants and teachers.
One night's accommodation is available for students and teachers coming from outside a 70 mile radius of Oxford. All students must be over 16. We regret that we are unable to offer accommodation to any accompanying parents or friends. Overnight accommodation books up very quickly so if you do need to stay with us, please make sure you make your reservation as quickly as possible. Overnight accommodation on Wednesday 2nd July is now fully booked. Limited space available on Tuesday 1st July.
As a guideline we limit lunches/accommodation to 10 per school, however if you would like to book a larger party (e.g. you are a large sixth form college or bringing pupils from a consortium of schools, please contact us to discuss your requirements).

The University’s Undergraduate Admissions Office holds a series of 'Introducing Oxford Talks and Tours' during February half term and the Easter holidays. Details of how to book a place can be found on the Oxford University website.
