Alumni Guestroom

Alumni Guestrooms

St John's now has five Alumni Guestrooms for alumni to book. The rooms are next door to the Alumni Common Room at 20 St Giles, a Grade II listed building which was renovated in 2007 (see right hand building in photo above). The three twin and two double Alumni Guestrooms are extremely comfortable and attractive, and are all en-suite.

Facilities include

  • Free wi-fi access
  • Tea and coffee making facilities
  • 32" television
  • Use of an iMac, magazines and a desk in first floor Common Room
  • Ensuite bathrooms (bath with shower)
  • Alumni Guestroom 1 is on the ground floor and from Autumn 2010 will be wheel chair accessible

Booking

The rooms may be booked for up to three nights for UK based alumni and up to five nights for overseas alumni. The cost of a room is £45.00 per night for single occupancy and £80.00 per night for double occupancy. This includes breakfast in Hall.

Each alumnus/a staying in the guest room building is allowed to book an additional room for (non-alumni) guests. Please note that for insurance reasons we are not able to let children under the age of 16 stay in the alumni guest rooms. Due to the increasing popularity of the guest rooms, we now limit the total number of nights that can be booked by each alumnus/a to 10 a year.

To confirm a booking, we ask for payment in advance, either by credit/debit card over the phone or by cheque through the post. Please be aware that our cancellation policy has recently changed; any bookings cancelled up to a month of the arrival date will receive a full refund, but those within the month will only be refunded if the room can be re-let.

Guest rooms are not available during College closures. In 2012 the College will be closed between 5 - 9 April, 10 - 27 August and over Christmas (dates TBC).

Please email Sophie Carp or telephone 01865 610886 for more information or to book a room.
