Taking your MA

Alumni who were undergraduates and studied for a BA degree are normally eligible to take the Oxford MA seven years after they matriculated.

Those who are not qualified for an Oxford BA cannot become Oxford MAs, even if they have higher Oxford degrees. Holders of undergraduate master's degrees become eligible for the same privileges as MAs after the same lapse of time which is required for a BA to become an MA, but are not eligible for the MA itself. You become eligible for an MA in your 21st term from matriculation, provided you have kept the requisite number of terms residence and have had your name on the books for the full period. Those with Senior Status qualify in their 18th term.

If you would like to book a place at a degree ceremony to receive your MA, please email the College Office or telephone 01865 277318. It is also possible to take your MA in absentia.
