Research Interests
I am a mathematical analyst: my interests lie in classical real analysis, functional analysis, measure theory, and the calculus of variations. My doctoral work was on partial regularity and existence of singular minimizers in the one-dimensional calculus of variations. At St John’s my work is on the “formal Darwinism” project, seeking to develop a rigorous mathematical framework for the biological theory of natural selection.
Other Information
I completed my PhD in 2011 at the University of Warwick, under the supervision of Prof. David Preiss. From 2003 to 2007 I read Maths and Philosophy at Magdalen College, Oxford.
