Teaching Interests

I give tutorials in Developmental Psychology to students taking psychology prelims (first years) and Part 1 (second years). I have previously taught Behavioural Neuroscience for Part 1 psychology students and give specialist lectures and tutorials for the Part 2 option in Learning Theory.

Research Interests

I work on understanding how we learn associations between stimuli and outcomes. I am particularly interested in how such learning occurs when multiple stimuli co-occur and how individuals differ in their acquisition of associations. This focus has particular relevance for mental health problems and provides insight to develop computational models of how cognitive processes change with mental health. My recent work includes testing how neuroticism and anxiety interact with processes of attention to influence learning.

I am interested in the mental health of young people and the student population in particular. I work with a charity - www.studentminds.org.uk - to support research necessary to improve understanding of the current state of student mental health.
