Dr John Langton

Biography

My early research was concerned with the effects of the industrial revolution on the economic, urban and cultural geographies of England, then, in collaboration with Prof. Göran Hoppe, with the transition from peasantry to capitalism in Sweden, and more recently, in collaboration with Dr. Graham R. Jones, with the historical geography of the forests and chases of England and Wales. Details of this project can be found on the Forests and Chases c.1000 to c.1850 website.
