Junior Research Fellow in French

Biography

My D.Phil, which was undertaken at Merton College, explored how contemporary French philosophers engage with music. I have published on Jean-Luc Nancy, and have articles forthcoming on Lacoue-Labarthe and Badiou. I teach translation from French to English, and Prelims and Masters papers on French and critical thought more broadly.

Research Interests

I work in the area of contemporary French thought (usually post-1968) and my postdoctoral project draws on the work of Bernard Stiegler to explore – via the notion of the organ (whether biological/sensory, technological/prosthetic, or social forms of organization) – the relationship between contemporary French thought and ecological/environmental concerns, cognitive capitalism, affect, and (the end of) the anthropocene.
