Choir Director

Biography

I began directing the Choir at St John’s in October 2017. Previously I was Organ Scholar at Hertford College and a countertenor lay clerk with the Gramophone Award-winning Choir of New College. I graduated with a 1st in Choral Conducting from the Birmingham Conservatoire.

For 12 years I have held the position of Director of Music at the City Church of St Michael at the North Gate and I am the Musical Director of the Wooburn Singers, founded by Richard Hickox.

My wide-ranging portfolio also includes positions as the Founder and Artistic Director of the Blenheim Singers and of the Oxford Bach Soloists, whose mission is to perform the complete vocal works of JS Bach over the next 12 years in Oxford.

Some of my accolades include 1st prize in the Birmingham Conservatoire Sir Michael Beech Conducting Award, 1st prize in the Three Choirs Festival Conducting Award, and a nomination for the Arts Foundation Fellowship.

I am always happy to hear from anyone who wishes to join the choir either as a full time member or on the deputy list. Please get in touch to find out more.
