St John's College Oxford
This is a 24-month fixed-term position.

Applications are invited for the post of Project Library Assistant at St John’s College, Oxford. The post-holder will carry out a variety of retrospective cataloguing and collection management projects, together with readers’ services duties as part of a small team. The post will be suitable for someone who has just completed a successful library graduate traineeship and is undertaking or will soon commence their part-time or distant learning post­graduate degree in library or information management.

The successful applicant will be expected to have a good first degree and show a genuine enthusiasm and commitment to a professional career in librarianship and information work. Excellent IT, communication and organisational skills are essential, as well as analytical thinking, an eye for detail and the ability to work to a high standard of accuracy. Proficiency in cataloguing to RDA and MARC 21 rules is desirable.

The post is offered on a 2-year fixed-term basis at 80% FTE (4 full working days, one of them being a Friday). The salary is £21,585-£24,983 p.a. pro rata: University Grade 4.
