Keen to come to an event at St John’s but unable to afford the travel costs?

We want to make it as easy as possible for you to visit St John’s to see for yourself what we are able to offer to our undergraduate students. If you are travelling to one of our events in College we may be able to help with a contribution towards your travel expenses. The support available will depend on the distance travelled, based on the shortest route between your home postcode and St John’s College.

Your responses to this form will give us the details we need to check if you are eligible for help with the cost of your travel. You may wish to complete this form before you make your travel plans. Once we have received and checked your details, we will contact you to confirm whether you are eligible to receive a contribution towards your travel costs, and if so, how much we can offer you. Please note that you should only apply for this award if you would otherwise be unable to attend the event.

The deadline for application submissions will be listed on the event advertising material and will typically be 2 weeks prior to the event. Please note that we are only able to reimburse travel costs for pupils.

Here’s how much you could get:

Travel reimbursements of £75 or less will be paid in cash and must be claimed on the day at the designated point which will be clearly signposted. This must be collected at registration on the day of the event and in person. Travel money cannot be awarded retrospectively, and you may claim this only once. You will need to bring a form of ID - either a bank card, student card, driving licence or passport - and something with your address on, too. If you are receiving over £75, the funds will be paid by cheque, either to your school ahead of the day or to you on the day, following these same procedures.
