Please check this page for updates regarding the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.

It will come as no surprise to you but, in light of the current situation and Government advice, the College’s Bronze Group responsible for overseeing planning in relation to the CoVid19 virus has made the decision to cancel all College events for the foreseeable future. This includes all dinners, room bookings and events in Trinity Term. Any events beyond Week 8 of Trinity Term will be reviewed on an ongoing basis. If you have any questions about your booking please do not hesitate to contact Susie Power, events@sjc.ox.ac.uk.

College continues to monitor and assess the situation. We aim to provide an update around 20th May for external clients holding events in St John’s College in July.  Should you have an immediate concern please email Susie Power, Events and Conference Manager. As many colleagues are now working remotely, we appreciate your patience in awaiting a reply.

The University's information on Coronavirus is available here.

The College is aware of Government advice concerning the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. As a result of this advice we ask that conference and event organisers take precautions to ensure that their guests and the College are not taking any unnecessary risks that might put the College or meeting attendees at further risk.

We would ask you to do the following:

1. Please advise your guests that, if they are travelling from category 1 areas and have not completed the required self-isolation period, they should refrain from visiting or attending any event in the College until such time as that self-isolation is complete and no symptoms have been discovered.

  • Iran
  • Specific lockdown areas in Northern Italy as designated by the Government of Italy
  • Special care zones in South Korea as designated by the Government of the Republic of South Korea
  • Hubei province (returned in the past 14 days)

2. Anyone travelling from areas listed as category 2 should be made aware of the Public Health England (PHE) advice prior to arrival and should report as required by the PHE guidance.

  • Italy
  • Vietnam
  • Cambodia
  • Laos
  • Myanmar
  • Mainland China
