Applications to undergraduate courses at the University of Oxford take place between 1 September and 15 October each year, for places beginning the following autumn. There are more than 30 colleges and halls at Oxford which offer undergraduate courses.

Although they vary in terms of age, size, location, and some other factors, Oxford colleges

have more things in common than differences. Most colleges offer most undergraduate

courses. Before choosing a college, you may want to visit colleges’ website or attend one of

their open days to find out more about them. It is important that you check whether the

course that you are interested in is offered by the college you wish to apply to.

If you cannot decide on a college, you can make an open application. You can choose this

option on your UCAS form. This will not disadvantage your application. What this option

means is that your application will go to an Oxford college or hall which has received less

applications for the course you are applying to in that year.
