Bridging minds

The "Bridging Minds" project aims to support a meaningful dialogue between patients with psychosis and researchers through a collaborative arts exhibition. Psychotic disorders such schizophrenia, are debilitating disorders linked to poor health and social outcomes. In this area, patient engagement with research is highly limited, which in turn leads to poor progress in research. This initiative addresses these challenges by using art as a universally accessible medium to communicate patient’s personal experiences as well as latest research advances into psychotic disorders.

The three-day exhibition will showcase visual artworks created by patients and researchers, alongside an evening of short talks on research into psychosis and schizophrenia in Oxford. This project will increase awareness of psychotic disorders and empower patients to shape research priorities. Additionally, researchers will gain valuable insights into lived experiences of psychotic disorders, improving the relevance of their work.
