Crosswinds

This concert of woodwind chamber music will include Ludwig van Beehoven's glorious Wind Octet in E flat major juxtaposed with Christopher Ball's entertaining Scenes from a Comedy for Wind Quintet. Pianist James Martin returns to highlight the fabulous compositions of Francis Poulenc for winds and piano.

The programme will last around one hour.

The Crosswinds are a group of instrumentalists formed in 2021, bringing their love of chamber music to the community at neighbouring St Cross College. The ensemble features St John's Supernumerary Teaching Fellow Dr Nick Jones on bassoon with friends from across the University of Oxford and beyond.
