Workshop: Digging Crates project and film screening
- Date 10 March 2022 - 4.30 p.m. - 10 March 2022 - 6.30 p.m.
- Location St John's College Auditorium
Rawz hails from Blackbird Leys in Oxford and is an MC, poet and youth worker, as well as our Sound Artist in Residence for 2022. Rawz' residency at St John's will look at the use of hip hop music and culture as a tool set for the exploration of a wide range of themes, from the global impact of colonialism and slavery, to introspective reflections on a person’s choice of footwear. This is the second workshop he will be running for students and the community.
This workshop will look specifically at Rawz's Digging Crates project and how it used hip hop to break down stereotypes and tell a story about the legacy of colonialism and the transatlantic slave trade. It will include a second St John's screening of the Digging Crates film.
The event is free and open to all members of St John's and the wider community. Places are first come, first served, so reserve your place by clicking here now!
