Amy McCall Wins 2024 MRC Max Perutz Award
The Medical Research Council (MRC) Max Perutz Award is a prestigious science communication competition for current MRC-funded PhD students. Named after Dr Max Perutz, the Nobel Laureate and founder of the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, the award recognises researchers who excel in making their research accessible and engaging to non-specialist audiences.
This year, the MRC piloted a new format for the competition, exclusively accepting video entries. The winning entry for 2024 was created by Amy McCall, a third-year MRC-funded DPhil student in Psychiatry at the University of Oxford. Her video, 'Researching Panic Disorder in Young People', explores what panic looks like in young people (13-18), why it happens, and how we can treat it.

Congratulations to Amy McCall on winning this prestigious and important award.
