Sound artist Signe Lidén's end-of-residency events
Field Modulations: Sounds of the Garden
By Jasmine Chilton, Kirsty Fabiyi, Jasmin Irscheld, Matthew Ward and Signe Lidén
Friday 30 November, 4–6pm, The Barn
Inspired by David Tudor´s Rainforest performances, Signe and her workshop students have created an environment of sounding objects. Sounds recorded in the St John's College Garden resonate a variety of objects placed in the College Barn.
Field Modulations: Membrane
Friday 30 November, 5.30pm and 6pm (two 20-minute performances), Garden Quad and Auditorium
Membrane presents Signe Lidén´s research during her residency at St John's. Lidén has been exploring how fabric can have a hybrid set of functions: all at once, a microphone membrane, a loudspeaker, a sound absorber. With the Garden Quad as the location, she reveals how an acoustic canvas can render seamless transitions between instrument, environment, and perception.
The Chess Room: Acoustic Canvas Listening Space

Traveling Sounds: Works by Victor Lisinski, Gascia Ouzounian and Signe Lidén
