St John’s students take an action-packed Access Roadshow to our link regions
On 18-22 June a team of six undergraduate Student Ambassadors embarked on a five-day Roadshow, visiting 24 state schools in Brighton, Seaford, Bexhill-on-Sea, Heathfield, East Grinstead, Crawley, Bognor Regis, Littlehampton, Worthing, Steyning, Chichester, Barnham, Horsham, Billingshurst, Burgess Hill, Harrow, Acton and Southall.
The team, consisting of Marco, Aisha, Harry, Ore, Lewis and Francesca talked to hundreds of students from Year 9 to Year 12 about applying to and studying at Oxford. They offered constructive advice about writing personal statements and shared first-hand expertise regarding their university studies.
Thanks to our great team of ambassadors for giving up a week of their vacation and for their hard work with our linked community students, many of whom begin their own university application process in the coming months.
St John's President, Professor Maggie Snowling, said, 'I’m so proud of our Student Ambassadors who’ve given a week of their holiday to the Roadshow. Their commitment, time and energy is Inspiring!'
" Many thanks to Marco and Aisha, Student Ambassadors from St John's for sharing your personal experiences of studying at Oxford University with our Year 9 and Year 10 students today. They found it both insightful and inspiring! " Heathfield Community College, East Sussex
