Andrew Holmes is best known for his photo realistic colour drawings exploring the anonymous mobile infrastructure of cities. His work, spanning over fifty years also encompasses photography, film and design.

Accompanied by a series of intense images and visual effects, the talk traces his work as a young student of architecture in the 1960s to the era of digital images.

The lecture draws parallels between the work of the artist Albrecht Durer and the writer John Bunyan with contemporary popular music and culture, in particular the passing world of the trailer park, the motel and the freeway as the age of oil fades.

Whilst travelling, Holmes obsessively captures what he sees; producing drawings with coloured pencil to re-present the landscape through which he drives.
