Two photographers and a video artist explore how contemporary digital manipulation can fashion images that add new layers of meaning, create surprising juxtapositions and disrupt conventional perspectives on the world

Uwe Ackermann is a retired physiologist. While his photographic practice normally explores the interface between descriptive photography and the visual possibilities that are offered in the digital sphere his focus is always on the visual telling of a story.

Bharat Patel is an Oxford-based photographer working with NGOs and international charities. He has exhibited arresting images of those living and toiling under unimaginable conditions in the global south. In his most recent work he creates a narrative by blending a number of separate images into one.

Terry Flaxton has worked with sound composition, photography & film, developing a particular interest in analogue video during the 1970's and has subsequently exhibited internationally, locations including Tokyo, Moscow, Bonn, Xi’an, Milan, Algiers, Strasbourg and others. His work has won various awards. He is a lifetime Academician at the Royal West of England Academy of Art; was until recently Professor of Cinematography and Lens Based Arts at University of the West of England; is a Royal West of England Academician and a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society.
