Facing the Future is a portrait exhibition by artists Ruth Swain and Paul Starns, telling the stories of 16 people affected by breast cancer. The sitters include both men and women who have received diagnoses, health care professionals who have dedicated their lives to researching and treating breast cancer, and the loved ones of those diagnosed. Alongside each portrait will be their story told in their own words.

The purpose of the project is to show that breast cancer affects everyone – men and women from all walks of life. The effects of breast cancer are profound, not just on those diagnosed, but also on their loved ones. And everyone's story is different.

The exhibition is also raising funds for Breast Cancer Now, the research and support charity, with over £130,000 raised so far. Donate here.
