Experimental Music Oxford Concert: Isidora Edwards

This concert will feature Isidora Edwards' evocative improvised performance, channeling cello through sound modulating effects, and will open with an improvised set by Oxford students Naomi Benenson, Max Blansjaar, Esther Bodkin, Leandro Landolina, and Giuli Tritto.

Isidora Edwards is a London-based experimental cellist and composer from Chile. Her work explores improvised sound through acoustic, amplified, and processed cello, voice, and electronics. She is interested in how improvisation can unsettle ways of listening, where hesitation becomes relevant material, opening spaces for questioning musical practice.
Her solo and collaborative performances have been presented at festivals and venues across Europe, Latin America, and the United States, including Konfrontationen, Nickelsdorf, Eavesdropping, London, Café OTO,London, Roulette Intermedium, New York, Echoraum (Vienna), Klub Primi, Copenhagen. She has released albums with the labels Relative Pitch Records and Scatter Archive.
Trained as a classical cellist at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, she holds a MMus in Creative Practice and is a PhD candidate in Music, both at Goldsmiths, University of London. Her research is supported by scholarships from Chile’s National Research and Development Agency (ANID).
