Join us at St John's for an exclusive screening of Creation Theatre's dramatisation of Jane Austen's novel, Lady Susan (c. 1794)
  • Date 5 December 2025 - 5.30 p.m.
  • Location Garden Quad Auditorium

As part of the College's programme of events celebrating the 250th anniversary of the birth of Jane Austen, we're hosting an exclusive screening of Creation Theatre's quirky adaptation of Austen's epistolary novel, Lady Susan.

Lady Susan takes the form of 41 letters, written by a host of fabulous characters, over a period of weeks. Lady Susan herself is one of Austen’s most memorable characters – scheming, flirtatious, self-serving and yet, decidedly charming. Newly widowed, she’s intent on finding herself a wealthy new husband and marrying off her sixteen year old daughter as advantageously as possible. As rumours of her reputation spread, can she convince everyone that it is all slander and she’s just misunderstood?
