Pillars of the Forest by John Blandy

This unique exhibition features portraits of five trees from Wytham Woods created over five consecutive years by Artist in Residence, John Blandy. Working in pastel and focusing on a different tree every year, the artist has revisited the site monthly to slowly build up an intricate portrait of each tree across the changing seasons and weather conditions. The exhibition features renderings of a Hornbeam, a Beech, an Ash and two Oaks.
Since 2017 John Blandy has exhibited at the Sawmill, Wytham Woods, during Oxfordshire Artweeks, in ‘Identities’ in Corby, and in ‘Drawn to London’, Bermondsey Project Space. More information can be found at www.johnblandy.co.uk.
