William Mackesy – Crazy for Colour

St John's alumnus William Mackesy will exhibit his recent work.

Squang 2018The show is mainly abstract Matissean cut-outs of gouache paper (his method but not his manner, William insists), with some oil paintings.

Open daily from 11.30am to 6pm (closing at 5pm on Sunday).

William will also talk informally to the St John's community about his show and his influences, including Matisse and Klee, and riffing on Josef Albers' colour theories at 6pm on Thursday 9 May. All welcome, and a glass of wine will be on offer.
