Professor Bishop, Honorary Fellow at St John’s, received the degree in-person at the University of Liège, Belgium.

Dorothy Bishop - Liege.jpgThe honorary degree was awarded by the Faculty of Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, and Education of the University of Liège in 2020, and has only recently been awarded in person due to COVID restrictions.

Professor Bishop was honoured in recognition of her pioneering work in the field of developmental psychology, including numerous influential scientific articles and books, multiple methods for assessing language in children and important work raising public awareness of language impairment.

The President of St John’s, Professor Maggie Snowling, proudly attended the presentation ceremony and provided the photo.
