St John’s College is excited to announce the launch of the Inspire Programme for Year 12 & 13!

The St John’s Inspire Programme forYears 12 & 13 (Inspire 12 & 13) primarily consists of a series of online Twilight Sessions throughout the year. Sessions include a combination of in-depth academic taster talks by scholars from Oxford or other leading universities, and expert guidance on skills development and how to make an effective and competitive application to university. All pupils on Inspire 12 & 13 are also invited to attend a virtual summer school, which offers academic lectures, skills sessions and careers advice.

Our theme for this year’s academic taster sessions is ‘Order in Our World’, through which pupils will explore how we structure our understanding of the word, and how order manifests outside of human control in unexpected ways, from a range of perspectives. Inspire 12 & 13 pupils will have the opportunity to select subjects which are of direct interest and relevance to them, from Biochemistry to Ancient History and Psychology to Geography, allowing them to explore the synergies between the Sciences, Arts, and Humanities.

Parents, carers and teachers of Inspire 12 & 13 pupils will also be invited to attend online webinars designed to support their pupils. Topics will include ‘The University of Oxford’, ‘The Oxford Application Process’ and ‘Interviews’.
