January saw the opening of the College’s new combined Access and Admissions Office.

Access and Admissions OfficeThe new premises, at 15 St Giles, offer excellent facilities for everyone involved in the College’s outreach and admissions programmes, and all with disabled access. These include a reception area stocked with useful information, and a meeting room where our staff can meet with representatives and students from schools in our link regions, to plan and accommodate events. We have a full programme of school visits and Study Days in College, as well as regular events in schools across our regions. Find out more here

Our expanded team now includes an Access Officer for the Inspire Programme, an Access Officer for our link regions, and a Fellow designated for Access. For admissions, our Admissions Officer is joined by a Fellow designated for Admissions.

Professor William Whyte, Acting President, commented, ‘St John’s has been working for fair and open access to Oxford for many years.  With the opening of this new office we not only have a wonderful symbol of that, we will also lead the way in providing guidance to prospective applicants. We look forward to welcoming the students of the future here.’
