A new Tutor for Ethnic Minorities

Commenting on his appointment, Professor Maini said, 'Having been a student here myself, and from an ethnic minority, I know how the stresses of balancing different cultural expectations can add to the already pressurised life of an Oxford student. I would have found it helpful to be able to talk to someone who understood this. I hope that I can be that person. I plan to listen to the students, and to bring to the attention of College any issues that they may have.'

Professor Maini spoke at the recent inaugural Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Dinner, held in College to celebrate the diversity of our community. Members of the JCR, MCR and SCR gathered for drinks in the Barn before a magnificent dinner in St Giles House.
