It is with sadness that we announce that Professor Sir Roger Elliott FRS, former Honorary Fellow, died on 16 April 2018 aged 89.

Sir Roger was elected to an Official Fellowship at St John’s College in 1957 and held the Wykeham Professorship of Theoretical Physics from 1974 to 1988. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1976. Secretary to the Delegates and Chief Executive of Oxford University Press from 1988 to 1993, he was knighted in 1987.

Sir Roger was a great friend to the College over many years and will be much missed. Funeral details will be circulated when known.
