Robert J. Mayhew elected Fellow of the British Academy
Many congratulations to Professor Robert J. Mayhew FBA (1992, DPhil Geography and the Environment) on his election as a Fellow of the British Academy.
Each year, the British Academy elects up to 52 fellows, who must be UK-based scholars who have 'attained distinction in any of the branches of study which it is the object of the Academy to promote' – ie, the humanities and the social sciences. Only a small number of elections are made each year, and there are now over 1,000 Fellows across the Academy's branches of study.
Professor Mayhew is currently Professor of Historical Geography and Intellectual History at the University of Bristol. Whilst at St John's Professor Mayhew was supervised by Dr John Langton, Emeritus Research Fellow in Geography.
Please join us in congratulation Professor Mayhew on his election!
