Biography

Currently I tutor Thermal physics for 2nd year students and Atomic Physics and Atmospheric Physics and Fluid Dynamics for 3rd year students. I am also a demonstrator for the 2nd year electronics lab.

Research Interests

I am working on the ATLAS experiment currently under commissioning at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland. We have assembled a major section of the Silicon Strip Tracker for this detector at Oxford University. Data taking with ATLAS will commence in 2008. In addition I am working now on a future upgrade programme for this detector. Within this project my main research activities center around the thermal management of the detector, i.e. the cooling of the on-detector electronics under the constraints imposed by a high intensity hadron collider environment.
