Biography

Nigel Carrington was Vice-Chancellor of University of the Arts London (UAL) from 2008–21 . Before taking up that role, Nigel had a distinguished career in law and business. He was Managing Partner and European Chairman at law firm Baker McKenzie and then Managing Director of McLaren Group, the automotive technologies group. He is the Chairman of the Council of the British School at Rome and Chair of the Boards of The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), The Saturday Club Trust and Winch Design.

Nigel studied law at St John’s (Jurisprudence, 1975) and History of Art at the Courtauld Institute of Art.
