Mark Draisey’s oil portraits are very much in a traditional style with a contemporary twist. He has an almost obsessional eye for detail and likenesses, and works on a commissioned basis. He also hand-picks individuals who interest him to add to his portfolio from time to time. Mark has had his work selected for both the BP Award and the Royal Society Of Portrait Painters exhibitions in London on numerous occasions. Both Mark and Lucy are members of the Oxford Art Society and the Contemporary British Portrait Painters.

Lucy Stopford has also exhibited in the National Portrait Gallery and Edinburgh National Portrait Gallery with the BP Portrait Award and shows regularly with the Federation of British Artists in the Mall Galleries. Lucy’s approach in charcoal, paint and clay, is adapted from the sight size method of standing back from the model in order to reduce detail to abstract shapes. Working directly from a model in a medium chosen for its plastic qualities, so that the marks of enquiry can be left in the finished piece, each work is completed in one sitting as a record of the experience.
