Lydia Gilday

Stipendiary Lecturer in Chemistry

Subjects

Biography

I was appointed Departmental Lecturer in Inorganic Chemistry in 2013, after reading for the DPhil in Inorganic Chemistry (Supramolecular Chemistry). I have written important papers in the area of supramolecular chemistry and exploiting halogen-bonding for molecular recognition and anion templation.

Away from Chemistry, I enjoy cooking, going to church, following the (highs and) lows of my beloved football team Sunderland AFC, and spending time with my young family.

Teaching

I have taught Inorganic Chemistry to undergraduate chemists at various colleges during my time at Oxford and have joined St John’s as a Lecturer in Inorganic Chemistry in 2021.
