All 2020 Open Days will be taking place virtually. You can explore the main content of our Virtual Open Day anytime, and on 18 September 2020 we will be hosting another live event featuring Q&As with current students. Read about our July Open Days here.
On Open Days our lovely Student Ambassadors are available throughout the day to help you. They wear red polo shirts so they are easy to spot! They take guided groups around College, and answer any questions you may have about the student experience at St John's.
The Open Days section of the University website has lots more information about planning and making the most of your visit.
We are pleased to be able to offer a free lunch to day visitors. Booking is required, please contact the Undergraduate Admissions Officer and be sure to mention any special dietary requirements. Lunch is only available for potential applicants and not accompanying relatives.
A limited amount of accommodation is available for those travelling more than 70 miles from Oxford. Accommodation is only available for potential applicants and not accompanying relatives.
Programme for Open Days
College Opens to visitors: 10.00 am
Please make your way to Canterbury Quad. Follow the signs and the red, black or gold balloons, or ask one of our Helpers – they will be wearing red polo shirts.
Tours of the College: all day
These will be given by our Helpers at regular intervals throughout the day (last tour 4.30 pm). This will include a glimpse of our student accommodation. There is no need to book – just turn up.
Lunch: 12-2 pm in the Hall
If you would like to have lunch with us, please let us know so we can tell Chef how many to expect. If you have booked overnight accommodation, lunch will be included automatically.
The Main Event – ‘Tea and Tutors’
In the afternoon we very much hope that you will come along to meet our Tutors over a cup of tea/coffee in our Kendrew Café. We will be running two sessions:
- 2.00 pm Maths, Medicine and Sciences – Human Sciences will be in this session.
- 3.00 pm Arts and Social Sciences – PPE and Law will be in this session.
Again, there is no need to book – just turn up.
Please note that we are having to work around major building projects this year. We are pleased to say that we are in the process of building a new Library and Study Centre, but this does mean that some areas of our lovely gardens will be closed.
