Main Library, Canterbury Quad

The main library is on Canterbury Quad (no. 4 on the plan), with an entrance in the southeast corner. Immediately inside is a small cloakroom with water dispenser. Beyond this is the foyer with the Issue Desk and displays of fiction and general interest material. The white door to the right leads to the Paddy Room. The stairs lead up to the Old and Laudian Libraries.
- The Paddy Room contains all science and social science subjects, as well as Anthropology, Archaeology, Economics, Geography, Maths, Music, Oriental Studies, Philosophy, Politics and Theology. A catalogue terminal and a PC for student use are immediately to the left, the DVD collection immediately to the right. There is a photocopier in a small room on the right hand side.
- The Laudian Library is upstairs, turn right. This contains Architecture, Classics, Ancient and Modern History, English Literature, Fine Art, Modern Languages.
- The Old Library can be viewed from the top of stairs. This houses a large part of the collection of early printed books. It is not normally on open access: if you wish to work in this library, please talk to Library staff.
24-hour study space
This is adjacent to the Library on staircase C5 in the southwest corner of Canterbury Quad. On entering the passage it is the first door on the right.
Holdsworth Law Library, Kendrew Quad
There is a separate Law Library for the sole use of law students on the ground floor of the east side of Kendrew Quad (no. 21 on the plan).
