'St John's and the Colonial Past' is a member of the new TORCH research network Oxford and Empire, a hub and platform for research on and discussion of the legacies of colonialism in Oxford, including research on imperialism conducted by Oxford scholars, its aim being thoughtful contextualisation of Oxford's relationship with empire, whether in its monuments and built environment, the nature and teaching of its disciplines, or its archives, whether material, images, or paper.
