SJC Online: St John's and the Colonial Past
The Development and Alumni Relations Office is pleased to present the recording of SJC Online: St John’s and the Colonial Past with Reverend Professor William Whyte and Dr Mishka Sinha.
We launched our SJC Online series to enable the Fellows of St John’s to connect with members of our community from wherever they are in the world.
St John's has embarked on a special, pioneering project to explore connections between the College and colonialism, uncovering benefactions to St John's and stories about the alumni who served in the empire. It is also investigating the monuments, objects, pictures and buildings in the College that evoke the colonial past.
The College was delighted to invite members of our community to a special online event to hear an update on what the project has uncovered so far. Dr Sinha will then give an update on her research, showcasing the objects that she has uncovered from the College's archive.
