St John's College Alumni eNewsletter - May 2022
Introduction
I am the Programme Coordinator for the Inspire Programme for Years 9, 10 & 11, which is one of the sustained-contact opportunities offered by the St John’s Access Office. I joined the Access team after completing my DPhil in Medieval Literature here at St John’s, and I am delighted to now be working on schemes that help non-selective state school pupils achieve their academic potential.
We are about to launch Phase 2 of Inspire 9, 10 & 11, which after a successful three-year pilot will now be offered to secondary schools across the college’s link regions. This programme includes exciting after-school clubs, study day packages, and virtual and residential summer schools, as well as career-development opportunities for teachers, and talks that will offer parents advice on university study.
