Royal Academy of Engineering Senior Research Fellowship 

Professor Robert Hoye, Tutorial Fellow in Chemistry, has been awarded a highly prestigious Senior Research Fellowship by the Royal Academy of Engineering.

The Royal Academy of Engineering scheme enables Professor Hoye to work in collaboration with the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory for five years to develop a new X-ray detector technology from his laboratory to make it commercially viable.

Alumnus awarded MBE

Paul Fairweather (1974, History) was awarded an MBE in the Kings New Years honours list for services to disabled people and to the LGBTQ+ community in the North West.

Artist Kate Montgomery (1985, Fine Art) showcases her work at this exhibition at Compton Verney (Warwickshire) on until Sunday 1 September 2024. 

Alumna named FA director of women's football

The Football Association has appointed Sue Day (1991, Modern Languages) as its Director of Women's Football. Day joins from the Rugby Football Union. She is a former England rugby union captain. 

Cambridge-Oxford Alumni Club of Hungary award scholarship

Florina Szabó (2020, Physiology) was awarded a scholarship by the Cambridge-Oxford Alumni Club of Hungary. Florina received the award at the Annual Dinner at the Budapest Parliament.

Location: Bath Abbey, Bath, BA1 1LT

Followed immediately after the service by a reception at the Guildhall Bath, a 2 minute walk from the Abbey.

Mathematics of Neuroscience and AI

Dr Ruairidh Battleday (2011, Medicine) is pleased to share news of the Fifth International Convention on the Mathematics of Neuroscience and AI which will be held on Tuesday 28 - Friday 31 May in Rome. The convention is also available to attend virtually.
