Meet a member of the Women's Network Steering Group

Ava Mitchell.jpgI’m Ava and I’m currently a final year undergraduate reading Human Sciences at St John’s and the current JCR Women’s Officer. I have been the Women’s Officer since December 2019 and have been involved with the Women’s Network since then.

My interests lie in gender equality, anthropology and evolution and luckily Human Sciences is a course that manages to combine the study of these.

Beyond my academic interests, I’m involved with Right for Education, which is an NGO that publishes educational content to over 6 million readers across sub-Saharan Africa. I have also been involved with the Oxford Climate Review and TEDxOxford. I am a casual member of the netball (and previously rowing) teams and enjoy the community of these sports at St John’s.

Once I graduate later this year, I hope to stay in academia before perhaps entering the world of global health and international development.
