Update 1: 20 March 2020

We have made a good initial start on section 2 of the Lodge works. We've been able to make good progress on the Porters' Lodge having now transferred operations to the temporary cabin, and the hoarding has gone up around the main entrance gates on St Giles.

The strip out of the internal Lodge has started, and next week we will be continuing with the strip out, starting demolition works and carrying out some trial holes internally.

We have reached an agreement with the Highways Department, allowing us to close the footpath in front of the Lodge on a temporary basis. This will have significant benefits in allowing direct access for the removal of waste from the demolition works, and should speed up the process.
